Drink Charms
Fusing the Craft of Cooking with the Art of Jewelry Design

From a craving to do something "unique in the liquid realm" sprouts Chef Ron’s latest kitchen-inspired endeavor, Drink Charms. Ron says that an empty glass is just as much a canvas as an empty plate. The Drink Charms project paints that canvas with a unique array of "ingredients" from fine Swarovski glass beads to hand painted pendants to the luxurious organza pouch packaging. Meticulous in detail, the charms depict the chef’s favorite fruits and vegetables with vibrant colors and design. Food art intersects with table art to make a beautiful presentation for dinner parties and intimate gatherings.

The idea for the charms arose several years ago when Ron took notice of the fact that drinks in this country are not progressing in tandem with the culture and times in the way that food is. Many of his peers in the industry echoed that sentiment, to the point where today there is a nationwide movement to bring new culinary inspiration to cocktails and beverages.

"My goal is to draw attention to the idea that drinks should be given the same treatment and attention as food," vows Ron.

"I think that drink recipes are a great stepping stone to get people back to the kitchen. Because drinks are easy and rewarding to prepare, they empower us to have confidence in the kitchen and get people excited about creating other dishes as well. Ron confesses that the underlying goal with all of his projects is to promote the kitchen as a wonderful and rewarding place to be. Looking at the big picture - when a society feels connected to their food supply it leads to all kinds of benefits. Just giving people a good reason to get in the kitchen is like planting the seed to a better future.

"If you enjoy cooking you probably want high quality ingredients of a natural origin, which places demand on more growers to practice good earth stewardship which leads to even better ingredients. That enthusiasm will rub off on the next generation - and the cycle continues. Anything I can do to encourage people to be excited about cooking is a win.

Driving that sentiment are a set of elegant colorfully-beaded rings which are not to be mistaken for wine charms, for they are intended for diverse occasions and have been designed to fit a variety of stems and handles on everything from wine glasses to coffee cups.

To further inspire the use of your charms, they are accompanied by a booklet of Chef Ron's favorite drink creations. Don't be afraid to try the avocado chocolate smoothie!!!

With the charms and the recipes you will have everything you need for making what’s on your glass just as exciting as what’s in it!
